I was playing in a live tourney yesterday, no money, but series points at stake.. player to my right raises to 200 (4 times blind) and look at A K diamonds. I re-raise to 1200 and all fold except initial raiser. Flop comes up rags ( I thought) and I bet and raiser calls. check on turn and river, all low cards.. now the question. She shows 10 7 off and takes pot, paired 7's.. why would she call initial raise? I ask her and she replies "well, I knew you had good cards, so I figured my low cards might hit." this player does ok, not a strong finisher, but gathers chips pretty consistently. Am I on tilt or can this strategy work in certain cases? I will say I outlasted her in the game and made final table, and was able to take out two players using this as a strategy, two pairing a 6 4 suited, but I was in the BB and was in for 1k and the all ins were in for 1500 so pot odds said I called.. Any thoughts?
